Distribution Center EH&S Specialist – Onsite (2nd Shift)

The Job

As a Distribution Center EH&S Specialist, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team working as an on‑site employee. You’ll provide daily EHS support, maintain the EHS management system, help drive waste elimination, develop an accident‑free culture, and ensure 100% regulatory compliance.

  • Reports to the EHS Manager and directly interacts with all departments, regulatory agencies, and the Corporate EHS team.
  • Provide daily EHS support of the Stanley Black & Decker Jackson Distribution Center and assistance to other sites as needed.
  • Maintain an EHS management system that drives results in waste elimination while also developing an accident‑free culture and maintaining 100% regulatory compliance.
  • Help bring the team to the next level as we continually improve our EHS management system.
  • Maintain site EHS management system plans, including ISO certifications, EHS Road Map, and interfaces with regulatory compliance.
  • Provide guidance and information to makers and team members regarding regulatory compliance as it relates to Employee Health and Safety.
  • Provide training regarding all mandatory OSHA compliance, site emergency response team, new hire safety orientation, and other site‑specific hazard awareness training.
  • Assist in implementation of programs designed to improve workplace health, focusing on ergonomics, safe behaviors, hazard identification, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal safety/health regulations.
  • Assist in annual EHS audits to support compliance certification and implement audit corrective actions.
  • Ensure the site maintains current environmental, safety, and security data on the EHS website.
  • Maintain leading indicator initiatives such as near‑miss reporting, behavior‑based safety, and employee engagement activities.
  • Investigate safety incidents and provide root‑cause analysis.
  • Monitor changing and emerging safety standards and best practices, and assist in implementation of programs and processes to address them.
  • Maintain safety contingency programs for all fire, spill, and other emergency response processes.
The Person

Candidate will be committed to continuous learning and will be proficient in EHS practices in a warehouse environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety or Environmental Sciences preferred.
  • 3‑5 years’ experience in maintaining an EHS culture in a warehouse environment; preferred knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Analytical skills and ability to gather and interpret complex sets of data.
  • Computer proficiency including use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and EHS Data Management system preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:
    Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands. Required to lift and/or move 10 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures.

Salary Range

$46,500.00 – $74,900.00 per year.
