Senior Cost Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create, analyze and validate component material costs and targets.
• Generate ground-up / detailed material cost estimates that encompass both piece price estimations and production tooling estimations.
• Collaborate with key internal cross functional peers.
• Active partner with the internal GPSC purchasing team.
• Occasional domestic travel to supplier facilities for enhanced costing collaboration and support of the specific engineering / purchasing team.
• Support the assigned GM SMT from a tooling and piece price perspective.

• Bachelor’s in Finance, or Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in Finance or Cost Engineering
• Experience with Microsoft Office software and MS Excel
• Experience with cost estimating software and data analytics tools.
• Quick learner, thrives in change, and embraces new tech
• Strong communicator and trusted business partner
• Self-starter with integrity and drive to deliver results.
• 5+ Years of experience in cost engineering or related occupation in automotive cost estimating, automotive manufacturing, automotive product design / engineering, or automotive purchasing.
• Experience in the financial evaluation of technical concepts and automotive manufacturing production processes.
• Experience managing multiple projects and assignments
• Experience in a leading role.
• Experience working with cost data and working with cross-functional team.
• Experience with data driven analysis.
• Experience identifying solutions and establishing next steps to assigned projects.
