Overview

The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for the timely execution of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for the Technology business unit. This role collaborates with Technology Finance, Corporate FP&A and Technology Leadership to provide strong financial management and insights to support optimal decision making. Reporting to the VP, Financial Planning & Analysis for Technology, this role performs a broad spectrum of financial processes and strategic initiatives for Technology.

Responsibilities
  • Lead key aspects of financial management for Technology including budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and target setting; monitor performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage forecasts, align with the Technology Finance Team; identify financial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulations.
  • Provide financial insights to leadership, leveraging budgeting, long-range planning and forecasting at detailed levels to aid decision making and enhance financial performance; recommend new metrics to measure success.
  • Collaborate with senior business partners as a trusted advisor on financial matters; partner with sourcing to deliver efficiencies; align with targets and perform variance analysis.
  • Assist with strategy and process improvements related to budgeting, forecasting, systems and other key areas to ensure alignment with objectives; proactively identify process improvements and share best practices across units.
  • Assist in creating quarterly operating review decks and manage monthly executive leadership updates.
  • Manage a team, conduct goal setting and performance appraisals; identify, coach and develop top talent within the team.
  • Perform other ad hoc projects and financial analyses as needed, including those for new business cases.
All About You / Qualifications
  • Robust understanding of Corporate FP&A processes with experience in Technology Finance preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a strategic, big-picture perspective.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Oracle, and Hyperion; familiarity with Apptio and Agile IT methodology is a plus.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills; ability to build credibility with senior management.
  • Energetic, motivated team player able to collaborate across functions and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Ability to work independently and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and prioritization; ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Experience in managing a diverse, global Finance organization, including motivating and developing Finance professionals.
  • Good working knowledge of general accounting and internal controls.
  • Proven presentation skills, including executive-level oral and written communication.
  • Master’s Degree preferred in Finance, Business or related field.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
