Deposit Operations Specialist

Midland States Bank seeks a Deposit Operations Specialist to support accurate, compliant processing of deposit accounts for our community-focused customers. In this role, you will handle daily deposit transactions, ACH, wires, and check processing, while reconciling accounts and resolving exceptions. You'll help ensure regulatory compliance, monitor for fraud, and provide responsive support to branches and internal teams. Working in a collaborative, relationship-based culture, you'll contribute to process improvements and gain growth opportunities across community banking operations.

Responsibilities

• Process daily deposit transactions, ACH, wires, and check items accurately and on time.
• Reconcile deposit accounts, research discrepancies, and resolve exceptions and posting errors.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies, including Reg CC and BSA-related controls.
• Monitor for fraudulent or unusual transactions and escalate issues per risk procedures.
• Provide operations support to retail branches, commercial teams, and customer support staff.
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation, reports, and audit-ready records.
• Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new products, systems, and service initiatives.
