- Maintenance and Repairs
- Oversee routine maintenance and emergency repairs for hotel equipment, systems, and infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and elevators).
- Perform or supervise preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
- Facility Operations
- Ensure all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces, are in excellent condition.
- Maintain compliance with brand standards for property upkeep and appearance.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fire safety and building codes.
- Crisis Management
- Respond to and resolve emergencies such as power outages, plumbing failures, or HVAC issues to minimize guest impact.
- Collaboration with Other Departments
- Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to address maintenance needs promptly and support guest satisfaction.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, and repairs
- Report regularly to the General Manager or ownership on maintenance activities, issues, and improvements.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as elevators and fire safety equipment.
- Certifications like HVAC Technician, Electrician License, or OSHA safety training are preferred.
- Quick thinking and calm under pressure when responding to emergencies like system breakdowns or safety hazards.
- Attention to Detail:
Keen eye for identifying potential issues before they elevate. - Ability to communicate effectively with other departments, such as housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage.
- Ability to document maintenance schedules, inspections, and compliance certifications accurately.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Awareness of how maintenance activities can impact guests and taking measures to minimize disruption.
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), and other hotel technologies.
- Willingness to adapt to irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and on‑call situations.
- Applicants should have the flexibility to work weekends & holidays.
