Key Responsibilities for the Hotel Rooms Maintenance or Hotel Rooms Engineer include:
  • Maintenance and Repairs
    • Oversee routine maintenance and emergency repairs for hotel equipment, systems, and infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and elevators).
    • Perform or supervise preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Facility Operations
    • Ensure all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces, are in excellent condition.
    • Maintain compliance with brand standards for property upkeep and appearance.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fire safety and building codes.
  • Crisis Management
    • Respond to and resolve emergencies such as power outages, plumbing failures, or HVAC issues to minimize guest impact.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments
    • Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to address maintenance needs promptly and support guest satisfaction.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, and repairs
    • Report regularly to the General Manager or ownership on maintenance activities, issues, and improvements.
What We are Looking for in a Hotel Rooms Maintenance or Hotel Rooms Engineer include:
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as elevators and fire safety equipment.
  • Certifications like HVAC Technician, Electrician License, or OSHA safety training are preferred.
  • Quick thinking and calm under pressure when responding to emergencies like system breakdowns or safety hazards.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Keen eye for identifying potential issues before they elevate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments, such as housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage.
  • Ability to document maintenance schedules, inspections, and compliance certifications accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure smooth hotel operations.
  • Awareness of how maintenance activities can impact guests and taking measures to minimize disruption.
  • Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), and other hotel technologies.
  • Willingness to adapt to irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and on‑call situations.
  • Applicants should have the flexibility to work weekends & holidays.
