POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Wage and Salary Manager coordinates and directs the overlapping operations of the business and human resources departments, focusing on employee salaries and benefits. This role collaborates directly with the Superintendent, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Human Resources Officer on salary schedules, contracts, staffing, letters of employment, pay increases, negotiations, and budgeting.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The Wage and Salary Manager shall have a minimum of three years of experience in human resources, payroll, accounting, or related business operations. Strong background in using SISFIN or similar educational financial management system. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in K-12 school district operations and knowledge of Missouri education laws and regulations, preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Must be able to work well under pressure and negotiate a variety of situations as they arise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position an employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and use fingers and controls. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus, particularly for extended computer use. The employee should have excellent hearing and speech capabilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee will work in a traditional office setting.
