Human Resource Manager – US Foods
Location:
St. Louis, MO (with travel to Salem, MO and off‑site metro sites twice a month).
- Ensure and promote a genuine safety culture, modeling safe behavior and holding leaders accountable for safety initiatives.
- Advocate for a positive employee experience, identifying and escalating risks and opportunities to enhance engagement and retention.
- Assist in developing department goals, advising on policy application, providing training where needed.
- Execute communication and change campaigns for strategic HR initiatives, ensuring employee adoption and ROI.
- Lead investigations and support compliance, summarizing findings and providing recommendations to management and legal teams.
- Support recruitment, staffing and retention strategies, onboarding, performance improvement plans, and individual development plans.
- Coach on hourly discipline and performance management, assist leaders with talent assessment and planning.
- Lead leave administration and the interactive process, collaborate with ADHR and legal, and support Workers Compensation.
- Collaborate with market leaders to align HR practices with business objectives and keep up with legal changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, affirmative action, and personnel files.
- Internal:
Front‑line leaders, managers, and directors across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Human Resources; associates at all levels. - External:
Job candidates, recruitment agencies, and occasionally customers.
- Primarily office‑based with significant interaction at distribution centers, driver domicile yards, and battlefield parties with distribution team and territory managers.
- Minimum 6 years HR experience, including at least 4 in a professional (non‑administrative) role.
- Experience consulting with and advising small management teams.
- Strong foundation in core HR functions and processes.
- Knowledge of employment legislation (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, FLSA, Title VII).
- Proficient with MS Office, HRIS systems, and presentation skills.
- Travel requirement: 10‑15 %.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- SHRM certification desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with clean vehicle record.
- Prior employee relations experience and experience in a collective‑bargaining environment.
- Affirmative action experience in a federally funded contractor setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with a sound decision‑making judgment.

Base salary range: $65,000 – $100,000, dependent on experience, education, and location.
