The Opportunity

For our students, graduating from UHP is not the finish line. The goal is to help them successfully take the next step into a meaningful career.

As a Student Outcomes Coordinator on UHP's Next Command team, you will work directly with students from their initial career conversations through career preparation, interviewing, employment, and post-graduation follow-up.

You will own an assigned group of students and become a trusted resource throughout their transition — helping them identify opportunities, prepare for employers, navigate the hiring process, overcome obstacles, and keep moving forward.

With new cohorts arriving throughout the year, this is a high-touch, fast-moving role for someone who is exceptionally organized, builds relationships quickly, and genuinely enjoys helping people succeed.

• Conduct Career Compass and outcomes conversations to understand each student's experience, goals, career interests, location preferences, and potential employer fit.

• Lead 1:1 career sessions focused on job targeting, resume and Linked In positioning, interview preparation, networking, and career navigation.

• Build and maintain Student Profiles that help connect students with relevant UHP employer partners.

• Deliver career-readiness sessions on recruiting, interviewing, Linked In, networking, and navigating the civilian hiring process.

• Build meaningful relationships with students throughout their time on campus and identify those who may need additional support.

• Own the active job-search process for assigned students through placement.

• Track applications, interviews, employer conversations, offers, compensation discussions, and barriers to employment.

• Prepare students for employer interviews and help them navigate opportunities as they progress.

• Coordinate interviews and placement activity with the Director of Next Command and UHP employer partners.

• Proactively engage students who are stalled or struggling and help develop a path forward.

• Ensure required placement and self-attestation documentation is completed accurately.

• Maintain consistent contact with graduates who are still seeking employment and continue providing support through placement.

• Conduct scheduled post-placement follow-ups to understand employment status, retention, role alignment, and overall career progress.

• Capture student and employer feedback that can help UHP strengthen its programs and career preparation.

• Help ensure graduates continue to feel connected to UHP beyond their time on campus.

• Maintain accurate, timely records of student activity, interviews, offers, placement status, and employment outcomes.

• Keep outcomes data current and audit-ready for departmental reporting, employer partnerships, leadership visibility, and compliance requirements.

• Support UHP Skill Bridge Fellows and other veteran-transition initiatives through recurring career and placement touchpoints.

• Manage multiple overlapping cohorts and student timelines without allowing required follow-ups to fall through the cracks.

• Partner closely with the Director of Next Command and teams across UHP to connect student preparation with employer needs and long-term career outcomes.

• Students know exactly who to turn to for career and placement support.
