Lead Product Management – Technical
This role supports the Authorization Decisioning product within Mastercard’s Decision Management program. Decision Management enables faster, smarter decisioning at global scale by structuring and applying complex business logic across the payment journey and beyond. Authorization Decisioning orchestrates high throughput, low latency, and data‑intensive processing across Decision Management’s intelligent system on behalf of a suite of market‑facing products. The product manager works directly with the programs supporting those market‑facing products to develop a shared roadmap and corresponding backlog written in development‑ready detail.
Responsibilities- Serve as the bridge between product marketing and engineering by forming deep and meaningful relationships with product partners to better understand the business drivers and ensure we are technologically aligned to their demands.
- Constantly learn and collaborate across Decision Management and Mastercard Technology to fully understand the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of its systems and associated use cases, customer experience, back‑office systems, technical stack, interfaces, data flows, dependent applications/services, runtime operations, support strategies, and maintenance.
- Work independently and with minimal supervision to translate these relationships and knowledge into structured and actionable work for a team of Software Engineers.
- Precise written and verbal communicator.
- Curious and helpful by nature; interested in understanding the why and how of systems.
- Technologically savvy; preferably a software or data engineer by training.
- Proficient with data‑intensive applications (APIs, Java, Spring, Containers, Microservices, Eventing).
- Organized; able to take abstract inputs from all over and evolve them into iterative concrete action using tools such as JIRA, Rally, or Asana.
- Required undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a Business or STEM‑intensive degree program with related experiences in software engineering and/or data analytics.
- Preferred graduate degree in Computer Science or Business with related experience in fintech and payments.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
