Title

Manager, Technical Program Management

Responsibilities
  • Lead a global team of individual contributors who are conceptualizing, rationalizing, and driving multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work
  • Drive overall strategy and teams inside and outside of your organization to deliver the expected results
  • Develop and communicate a vision that supports the broader departmental and organizational vision
  • Maintain deep understanding of the platform, integration patterns, organizational capabilities, and company‑wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems
  • Continuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators on the organization’s score card and move them in a positive direction
  • Stay on top of tactical execution by rigorously inspecting the delivery plans and execution metrics of your TPMs
  • Adapt to shifting goals and activities while managing multiple activities in parallel
  • Build and cultivate strong internal relationships
  • Manage escalations
  • Actively encourage the development of your technical staff by guiding, coaching, and mentoring
  • Learn performance improvement management and hold team members accountable for performance
Corporate Security Responsibility
  • Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information accessed
  • Report any suspected information security violation or breach
  • Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines
Qualifications
  • Experience as a people manager with the ability to attract, recruit, and develop technical talent
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal guidance
  • Experience with XP, TDD, and BDD in software development processes
  • Experience delivering technical programs and knowing where to look to find all potential landmines
  • Proven track record of data‑driven decision making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams
  • Experience in agile delivery methodologies (scrum, Kanban, etc.) and CI/CD
  • Ability to communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity
  • Bachelor degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology or related discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed certifications (Agile, PMI, ITIL, Dev Ops, cloud computing, Java, etc.)
  • Experience and proficiency with cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, No

    SQL databases), microservice design, near real‑time scalable fault‑tolerant platform design, API design, and distributed systems operations in a Dev Ops model

Pay Range

O'Fallon, Missouri: $122,000 - $207,000 USD

Compensation Statement

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
