About the team:
The FABRIC team is building a machine-managed AI and Operations platform that captures and codifies organizational knowledge across Compute, Storage, Mainframe, and HP environments. This platform converts institutional expertise into reusable automation, standardized workflows, and Infrastructure-as-Code patterns, accelerating operational excellence across critical payments infrastructure and traditional platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Codify organizational knowledge across Compute, Storage, Mainframe, and HP platforms into controlled AI-driven operations, creating a consistent foundation for automation, governance, and operational excellence.
- Develop and maintain a machine-managed AI & Operations platform that transforms institutional expertise into reusable automation assets, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) patterns, and standardized workflows.
- Deliver operational dashboards that provide real-time visibility into tasks, objectives, automation adoption, platform health, workflow execution, and key performance indicators across critical payments infrastructure.
- Accelerate modernization and resiliency by enabling self-service automation, measuring outcomes through objective-based dashboards, and driving continuous improvement across traditional and mission-critical platforms.
What we're looking for:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029
- Experience with Python development and scripting
- Familiarity with Ansible for automation and configuration management
- Experience using Git or other source code management tools
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
- Exposure to AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies
- Preferred Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaC)

Compensation: $25-30/hr

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
