- Rotate every six months across Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, and other business areas as needed during the first two years
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to deliver value to customers
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality parts and services at competitive costs for current and upcoming vehicle models
- Cultivate cross-functional relationships internally and externally with suppliers
- Source key parts, systems, and technologies for GM vehicles and future EV products
- Partner with cross-functional teams to balance cost, quality, timing, and innovation with suppliers
- Plan and support vehicle and propulsion production so plants have the right parts at the right time
- Use data to manage demand, material changes, and daily supply chain operations
- Support inbound and outbound logistics from parts arriving at plants to vehicles reaching customers
- Help design packaging, routes, and logistics solutions to reduce cost and improve delivery performance
- Contribute to value chain, sustainability, accessories, aftermarket, and supplier resiliency projects
- Gain exposure to strategy, planning, GM Energy, and new business models shaping GM’s supply chain
- Rotational jobs may require domestic or international travel
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, Packaging, Procurement/Acquisitions and Contract Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, General Engineering, Business Analytics, or Management Information Systems
- Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2027
- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months
- Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H1-B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1 sponsorship
- Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance (preferred)
- Curiosity and aptitude for learning AI-enabled tools and applying them in a business context (preferred)
- Skills in complex negotiations (preferred)
- Knowledge of contract law and its application to purchasing processes (preferred)
- Knowledge of procurement software and databases (preferred)
- Ability to work globally, independently, and in a self-directed manner (preferred)
Demonstrates expertise in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, and Logistics, with a strong focus on developing commercial strategies and managing supplier relationships. Proficient in using data to optimize operations and enhance delivery performance across various business areas.
