Senior Materials Manager

Gateway Fiber is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Materials Manager to oversee inventory management and ensure material resources align seamlessly with construction schedules. Gateway is creating a leading, national fiber-to-the-home platform. With the support of its financial sponsor CBRE Investment Management, Gateway plans to reach 500,000 homes and businesses with its service over the next several years. The Senior Material Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing material operations across multiple regional warehouses to ensure timely availability of equipment and supplies critical to ISP network deployment and maintenance. This role oversees inventory control, warehousing functions, and distribution strategies to support field operations and customer installations. The Sr. Material Manager will lead a team of Material Specialists and collaborate with procurement, planning, and field teams to maintain operational excellence.

This leader is expected to contribute in the following significant ways:

• Manage day-to-day operations across multiple warehouses in different regions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement best practices for material handling, storage, and distribution.

• Maintain accurate inventory levels to support ISP network build-outs and service delivery.
• Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and coordinate replenishment strategies.
• Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure data integrity.
• Supervise and mentor regional warehouse managers and staff.
• Establish performance metrics and drive accountability for operational KPIs.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

• Work closely with procurement, material planning, and field operations to align material availability with project timelines.
• Coordinate with internal and contracted vendors to anticipate material needs for new deployments.

• Develop and implement standardized processes across all warehouse locations.
• Leverage technology and ERP systems for real-time inventory visibility and reporting.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in material handling and transportation.

• Prepare and present regular reports on inventory status, material usage, and operational performance.
• Analyze trends to improve forecasting accuracy and reduce material shortages or excess.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in material management
• Strong knowledge of ISP industry materials (fiber optic cables, network hardware, installation kits, etc.).
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and ERP platforms.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel frequently across regions.
• Experience with lean inventory practices and warehouse automation.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements for telecom/ISP materials.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
