The City of O'Fallon is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Superintendent to lead the daily operations and long‑term planning of our Facilities Maintenance Division. This position ensures that City buildings, systems, and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably to support high‑quality services for our employees, residents, and visitors.

The Maintenance Superintendent oversees all aspects of facility maintenance, improvement projects, and operational planning. This leadership role is responsible for creating a safe, functional, and attractive environment across City facilities while driving efficiency, sustainability, and excellent customer service.

• Leading and managing maintenance operations for all City‑owned buildings and facilities.

• Overseeing facility improvement projects, including design coordination, construction oversight, and contractor management.

• Collaborating with Engineering, Building, Public Works, and other departments to align priorities and support capital and operational needs.

• Directing preventive and corrective maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend asset life.

• Developing bid specifications, managing procurement processes, and ensuring contractor compliance.

• Preparing and managing annual operating and capital budgets.

• Providing responsive, professional customer service to internal departments and the public.

• Monitoring and optimizing facility control systems, including HVAC, lighting, and building automation.

• Implementing energy‑efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

• Researching new technologies and maintenance practices to improve service delivery.

• Hiring, training, evaluating, and supervising Facilities Maintenance staff.

• Managing equipment, tools, and supply procurement and maintaining accurate records.

• Serving as Acting Director during absences and responding to after‑hours emergencies as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, but not required.

• At least five years of related experience demonstrating strong understanding of facility operations and maintenance functions.

• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

• Experience with HVAC management software.

• Valid Missouri driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
