Machine Operator
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting production equipment using appropriate tools and procedures. You will ensure that machines are operating according to procedures and remain in good condition. Effective communication with team leads and maintenance is essential, especially in the case of machine malfunctions. You will be expected to understand production requirements and schedules, perform to machine goals, and cross-train on various job functions within the production facility.
Teamwork is crucial, and you will also assist and train helpers to perform necessary functions. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Set up, operate, and adjust production equipment.
- Maintain machines according to operating procedures.
- Communicate machine malfunctions with team leads or maintenance.
- Understand production requirements and schedules.
- Perform to machine goals and cross-train on various job functions.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Assist and train helpers in necessary functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform set-ups and changeovers.
- Mechanically inclined with problem-solving abilities.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 8 or more hours per day.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to walk for 4-6 hours per day and perform various body positions such as squatting, bending, and flexing.
- Capability to grasp with both hands for up to 8 hours per day.
- Pushing effort required for carts of finished product and tools, up to 75 lbs.
- Pulling effort required for tools and finished product, up to 50 lbs.
This position offers the opportunity to work on first shift from 7am to 3:30pm. You will receive extensive training and the chance to develop your skills in a supportive environment. The role provides an opportunity for career growth and advancement as a high-level machine operator.
Work EnvironmentThe work takes place in a 74,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility that is non-climate controlled, loud, and hot, with employees working in close proximity. You will work with various equipment and machinery including Punch Press, Brake Press, Turret Press, Packaging Equipment, Conveyors, Roll Forming Machines, Slitters, Lathe Machines, End Mill Machines, Drill Press, and Surface Grinders.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of O Fallon, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
