Equipment Operator Job Purpose

Responsible for the quality inspection of finished product, being able to recognize what constitutes bad product and what needs to be removed from the finished product roll. The workload will consist of a continuous workflow of products coming off our insertion equipment. The operator will need to learn how to operate the inspection table and be dependable to maintain a constant throughput of product.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Be primarily responsible for efficiently reworking rolls with bad product.
  • Responsible for slitting down rolls to required number per roll.
  • Rewind table operator.
  • Inspect finished stocks for quality and accuracy.
  • Other similar responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least one year of industry experience.
  • Ability to learn new equipment and procedures as required.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Acute attention to detail; safety minded/oriented.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Manufacturing environment. The noise level can be moderate to loud from equipment. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
