With over 30 years of experience, Merric Millwork and Seating is a leading manufacturer in the millwork industry, proudly expanding our capabilities to include custom upholstery, metalwork, powder coating, and stone. We collaborate with clients nationwide on diverse projects spanning the hospitality, restaurant, sporting venue, and senior living industries.
We are looking for individuals with experience with applying a variety of finishes using various spray equipment.
Position OverviewResponsible for performing daily activities in the Finishing Department. Applies knowledge of Materials and Finishes for all millwork packages, cabinetry and all other goods manufactured by the Company. May also do some restoration work and touch ups as necessary. Familiar with standard finishing concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience, judgment and direct supervisor's lead to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Prepares product for finishing by sanding surfaces and quality checking for cracks or holes.
- Apply a variety of finishes to achieve high-end finished products using various types of spray equipment.
- Sprays stain, finish and mixes custom color.
- Understand the various processes used in this role and follow them consistently from project to project, constantly evaluating the work quality as well as the materials and products being used.
- Ensure the finishing team is focused on completing tasks that ensure quality products in a timely manner.
- Handles multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and urgency.
- Perform touch up repairs as necessary.
- Works with direct supervisor to discuss upcoming work, work in progress, schedules, materials and supplies, and provide direct supervisor with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on all projects.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, proper and thorough cleaning of equipment, finishing booth, and workspace.
- Ability to mix stains, dyes and pigments to create custom colors.
- Ability to color match.
- Ability to mix stains to match wood finish samples.
- Self-motivated, and demonstrates an ability to meet deadlines and perform work with minimal supervision.
- 1st shift: M-F, 6:30am-3:00pm
