Position: Critical Care Staff Nurse - Emergency Dept.

Overview

The Children's Mercy Division of Emergency provides the highest level of care to sick and injured children and adolescents of the Kansas City region. We have two Pediatric Emergency Departments, one in downtown Kansas City and one in Overland Park, Kan. Our Adele Hall Campus location is a verified Level I Trauma Center, accredited by the American College of Surgeons, and includes the Emergency Mental Health Crisis Center, a dedicated, calm and safe space for patients experiencing a mental health crisis.

Our Children’s Mercy Kansas location also provides essential emergency services to the community. In both locations, patients receive skilled care from highly trained, passionate health care professionals. Our team members are involved in a wide variety of scholarly research, advocacy and educational endeavors. Our Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program is among the nation's most respected.

Critical Care RN's provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require intensive care. Critical care registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high-quality, comprehensive, and age‑appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients in the intensive care areas of the hospital. Critical care registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs, while coordinating patient care with non‑professional personnel as necessary.
