Licensed Practical Nurse - Clinic Pediatrics

Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license.

• Contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures the well‑being of patients.
• Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Educates patients/families about disease treatment plans including self‑care after discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow‑up care.
• Documents the provider’s encounters with patients, includes diagnoses, symptoms, discharge/follow‑up instructions, and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
• Transcribes patient orders (laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications) and completes patient charts by transcribing results of labs, X‑rays, or other evaluations.
• Continuously checks the progress of order availability to ensure the provider can make treatment decisions.
• Transcribes consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient’s private physician or the on‑call physician.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an equivalent educational program for licensing.
• No experience required for this entry‑level position.

• Constant use of speech for oral communication.
• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25lbs.
• Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
• Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds, and/or hear alarms or malfunctioning machinery.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50lbs.
• Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Occasional driving.
• Rare crawling and running.

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA).
• For other states (Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin): LPN license issued by the applicable state Compact.

Hourly pay range: $20.11 – $32.18 per hour. Final compensation may vary based on experience, labor market, and related qualifications.
