Licensed Practical Nurse - Clinic

Job Summary

Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license.

Location: O'Fallon, IL

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (No weekends or holidays)

Worker Type: Regular Employee

Pay Range: $20.11 – $32.18 per hour

• Contribute to patient assessment and ensure patient well‑being
• Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions
• Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services
• Educate patients/families about disease treatment plans, self‑care after discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow‑up care
• Document provider’s encounter with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, discharge/follow‑up instructions, and prescriptions
• Transcribe patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology, and medications
• Complete patient charts by transcribing results of labs, x‑rays, or other evaluations
• Continuously check the progress of data availability for orders to ensure the provider can make treatment decisions
• Transcribe consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or the on‑call physician
• Work in a constant state of alertness and maintain a safe environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or educational equivalency for licensing.

No experience required.

Constant use of speech to share information; constant standing and walking; frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects weighing 0–25 lbs; frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use, and data entry; frequent use of vision for distances up to 20 inches (near) and 20 feet (far) and to identify and distinguish colors; frequent use of smell for odor detection; frequent use of hearing for oral communication and alarm detection;

occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects weighing 25–50 lbs; occasional patient movements and driving; rare crawling and running.

• Illinois:
  Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin:
  Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Nurse Licensure Issued by Compact State
