Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.

• Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage in professional development activities.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family/caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• Proactively plan and ensure communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.
• Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs per standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
• Maintain constant state of alertness and perform duties in a safe manner (safety‑sensitive position).
