RN House Supervisor - Weekend Option; Nights

Bring your leadership skills beyond the bedside in this Full-Time Weekend Option (WEO) House Supervisor opportunity with BJC Health Care. In this hospital-wide leadership role, you'll serve as the on-site nursing leader, supporting staffing operations, patient throughput, and clinical excellence across Progress West Hospital and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital.

As a key operational resource, you'll collaborate with nursing leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams while responding to rapid responses, patient concerns, falls, staffing needs, and other hospital-wide priorities. Every shift offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care and hospital operations.

• Full-Time Weekend Option (WEO) schedule
• Night Shift: 3 12s 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM every Saturday and Sunday night
• One additional night shift per week
• Fixed/set schedule (non-rotating)
• Hospital-wide leadership and operational oversight
• Support staffing coordination, patient flow, and patient safety initiatives
• Holiday rotation required:
  One summer holiday and one major winter holiday (holiday eve and/or holiday day) annually.

• 2-4+ years of acute care RN experience
• Previous Charge Nurse or House Supervisor experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Experience managing patient flow, staffing, and operational challenges
• ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred

The House Supervisor is delegated the authority and responsibility for administrative supervision of patient care and other hospital departments, serving as a representative of Administration in the absence of the Administrator during off shifts. Acts as a liaison with departments and/or consults with Administrator on call to handle unusual circumstances, appropriate resources, and investigate and resolve clinical problems/complaints.

• Manage individuals including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Supervise the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care across the organization. Effectively respond to special circumstances and act as the on site leader.
• Assist with patient care operations and integration of services between departments.
• Assist in the clinical development of nursing staff, including observing and coaching staff in performance of clinical duties and interpersonal interactions and monitoring staff and unit compliance in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Function as a liaison between Administration and all departments and customers.
• Ensure that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and have direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
