Location:
Siteman Cancer Center at Northwest Healthcare.
- 8‑hour day shifts, Monday–Friday (no weekends, holidays, or on‑call)
- Shift hours 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; nurses must be available during this time.
- Nurses may float to other Siteman Cancer sites (Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Peters, South County, West County) as needed.
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.
Responsibilities- Promote patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
- Educate patients and families about illness or injury management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration.
- Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Engage in professional development.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family or caregiver.
- Ensure proactive planning and communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.
- Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
- Assess patient preferences, barriers, values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and maintain safety‑sensitive performance.
- Education:
Nursing diploma or associate’s degree in nursing. - Experience:
No prior experience required. - Licenses &
Certifications:
RN license.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing. - Experience:
At least 2 years of RN experience, oncology experience preferred.
