Overview
Nationwide’s Property and Casualty team seeks a Territory Manager to protect clients and drive profitable growth in the Springfield, MO area. The role requires frequent travel and direct engagement with agency partners.
Location & TravelThe successful candidate must live within the assigned territory, preferably in or near Springfield, MO, and commute within the territory. Frequent travel and occasional overnight stays are expected.
Key Responsibilities- Understand the strategic and operational goals of the assigned territory and distribution partners to identify mutually beneficial solutions.
- Proactively identify and implement actions to achieve territory goals.
- Lead new business and transfer processes, setting expectations and ensuring delivery of new or transferred business production.
- Leverage tools (Salesforce, Seismic, dashboards) to increase operational efficiency.
- Gather distribution partner feedback and share continuous improvement opportunities with business partners across the company.
- Collaborate with personal lines, farm geography partners, and other Nationwide counterparts on problem solving, education, promotion, and sales practice review.
- Complete annual planning, document agreements in Salesforce, and hold partners accountable.
- Partner with Product, Marketing and other business partners to identify and act on territory opportunities.
- Lead portfolio management meetings to align with territory goals and monitor portfolio data for profitability.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
- Undergraduate education in business, insurance, sales, marketing or related fields (degree preferred).
- 8‑10 years of sales or sales management experience, preferably with property‑casualty or financial services.
- Knowledge of independent agency distribution and carrier‑side sales management.
- Strong track record of building results and leading through influence.
- Problem‑solving and risk assessment skills.
- Customer‑focus: establish and maintain effective partner relationships.
- Accountability: define clear responsibilities and metrics.
- Adaptability: adjust personal behavior in dynamic situations.
- Communication: strong presentation and communication proficiency.
- Planning & alignment: break objectives into actionable initiatives.
- Driving results, persuasion, collaboration and courage.
Reports to Sales Associate Vice President or Vice President as an individual contributor.
Job ConditionsEligibility:
Exempt (not eligible for overtime). Work requires frequent travel and overnight stays. Requires a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Minimum five days per week field presence as required.
This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.
