As a Lead Water Distribution O&M Technician, you will participate in the operations, maintenance and repairs of the water distribution system. You will be repairing water and sewer pipe, valves, hydrants and other appurtenances. As well as operating a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders, vac-trucks and backhoes. You will also be welding and fabricating parts and tools, repairing water and sewer mains, assisting with responding to and resolving customer complaints, repairing streets, driveways and yards following installation operations.
You will assist in locating, and inspecting new lines, and other related duties. Lastly, you will be responsible for invoicing and inventory.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm. Will require an irregular work schedule and overtime hours.
- Positive attitude and work ethic.
- High School graduate or equivalent. A mechanical/technical/vocational school background or experience is a plus.
- Possess and maintain a Missouri DS 3 Distribution License.
- Possess and maintain a Missouri D Treatment License.
- A valid Missouri motor vehicle operator’s license and have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) A or obtain in 6 months.
- The ability to perform manual labor. Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- A minimum of 2 years relevant lead experience or combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of the repair, maintenance, and installation of distribution systems
- Knowledge of operation and preventative maintenance.
- Skilled in a variety of equipment such as Excavators, Track Loaders, and Hydro Excavation equipment.
- Skilled in the use of a variety of hand and power tools
- Skilled in oral and written communication
- Participate in an on-call rotation!
- May stand, walk, or move 6 to 8 hours daily.
- May sit for 1 to 3 hours daily.
- May perform operations and maintenance functions requiring manual dexterity and precision movements, continuous or repetitive arm and hand movements, grasping movements, and occasional forceful exertion.
- Exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, bending and reaching, climbing stairs and ladders.
- May lift, carry, push/pull objects and materials: regularly up to 40 pounds.
- Perceive and differentiate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth and visual cues or signals.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$33 - $35.50 an hour
Depending on qualifications and experience.
