The City of O'Fallon, MO is looking to hire a full‑time Utility Worker for the Water Main Replacement Crew. As part of our Water and Sewer Division, you will be participating in the work of the crew responsible for the replacement of water mains in the city’s water distribution system. Generally, your schedule will be daytime hours Monday through Friday, but overtime hours may be required occasionally.
Responsibilities- Participating in water distribution maintenance and repair activities, specifically water mains.
- Assisting with repairs to plumbing, process equipment and electrical system.
- Operating a variety of machinery and heavy equipment such as skid steer, wheel loader and backhoe.
- Repairing streets, driveways and yards following maintenance operations.
- Monitoring inventory of parts, supplies and chemicals.
- Communicating with co‑workers on processes and job activities.
- Maintaining assigned tools and equipment.
- Responding to emergency situations.
- Assisting other city crews as needed.
- Exhibit self‑motivation by always looking for ways to improve their knowledge and skills.

- Maintain their assigned vehicles and equipment with care.

- Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of water distribution systems.
- Knowledge of the operation and preventive maintenance of a variety of equipment.
- Knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift objects, climb ladders, use tools and equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
- Ability to work in an environment where temperatures can vary based on weather conditions.
- Ability to learn and follow all departmental and city policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
