Location and HoursThis position will be located at Echo Bluff State Park, 35244 Echo Bluff Drive, Eminence, MO 65466
. Shifts are primarily Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (30‑minute lunch break). Regular days off will be Saturday and Sunday but may vary with the time of the year to meet the needs of the facility. This position requires working regular weekends, nights, and holidays March – November, and may also work varying shifts depending on holiday, emergencies, and special events. Availability to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays is required.
Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license is necessary.
This position specializes in areas such as electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, and plumbing. The role will account for completing skilled work within the above specialized trades, applying trade‑specific knowledge to troubleshooting and work that is complex or varied in nature. It will exercise skill in procedures, processes, regulations, and practices applicable to the specialized trades, including operations and maintenance of equipment and tools.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry heavy loads, bend, reach, climb ladders, and work from heights.
- Perform a variety of semiskilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
- Research, estimate, acquire bids and/or purchase materials for specific projects or repairs as needed.
- Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries.
- Conduct routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
- Collaborate and problem‑solve with team members and supervisors.
- Participate in stewardship work including prescribed fire, invasive/exotic species control, and trail maintenance.
- Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, tractors, mowers, skid steers, and other grounds‑related equipment.
- Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid steers, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
- Maintain a working knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Oversee a seasonal crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
