Johnson Clarke Inc, a Palm Beach Tan franchise with 20 locations, is looking for a Maintenance and Facilities Technician in the greater St. Louis, MO region.

Performs general maintenance and upkeep duties for all Palm Beach Tan retail locations in the greater St. Louis area. Reports directly to the Head Maintenance and Facilities Tech.

Travels to all St. Louis and surrounding retail locations to complete required work. Must work on all types of equipment at our salons—including washers, dryers, tanning beds, and spray booths—with ongoing training and support.

Must learn not only how to repair the equipment, but also how to troubleshoot issues and understand why they arise. Must follow mandatory safety rules and procedures. Must lift objects up to 75 pounds and occasionally work in adverse weather.

• Receive oral or written orders from Head Maintenance and Facilities Tech
• Perform work according to standard procedure and each facility's operational schedule
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills
• Make minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs
• Perform touch‑up and finish painting
• Replace light bulbs
• Set up and tear down equipment
• Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures
• Report work accomplished orally or on written work orders to supervisor
• Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work
• Use hand tools and power tools for minor maintenance repairs and maintain grounds and walkways
• Assist in shipping and receiving of parts and supplies
• Provide assistance to staff, customers, and other employees as necessary
• Change tanning equipment lamps
• Work on all tanning equipment; on‑the‑job training provided

• Relevant experience in building and equipment maintenance is preferred
• Understand and follow common sense guidelines for detailed oral or written instructions
• Communicate courteously with staff and the public
• Acquire job skills within three months of on‑the‑job training
• Lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds; assist with heavier items as required
• Work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, or rain
• Hold a valid driver’s license

There is no specific office location. You will start your day from home or from the Westport Plaza location and travel to the various retail sites as needed.
