Salary:

Purpose Statement
The Francis Howell School District is committed to recruiting and retaining high-quality staff who are dedicated to creating a positive, student-centered learning environment. The Educational Support Counselor provides comprehensive counseling services to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide individual and group counseling to students
* Support students and families through crisis intervention and case management
* Conduct individual and/or family assessments
* Collaborate with school staff and outside agencies to support student needs
* Utilize trauma-informed practices and promote positive, restorative approaches
* Assist in connecting families with community resources and services
* Maintain knowledge of school law, policies, and special education processes
Job Requirements
* Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and family dynamics
* Knowledge of mental health disorders and effective counseling interventions
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
* Skilled in collaboration, communication, and problem-solving
* Experience with trauma-informed practices and alternatives to exclusionary discipline
Education and Experience
* Master's degree required
* Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required
* Previous experience in counseling or social work with children required
* School-based experience preferred

* $2,500 annual stipend for after-hours support, consultation, and licensure maintenance
