The Mastercard Corporate Solutions team is seeking a Software Engineer II to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem‑solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, and analytical.

Mastercard software engineering teams leverage Agile development principles, advanced development and design practices, and are obsessed with security, reliability, and performance to deliver solutions that delight our customers. We are looking for talented engineers to develop advanced technologies and applications that are revolutionizing payments.

• A hands‑on full‑stack engineer who can code and build high‑quality, secure front‑end and REST API/backend components that are modular, functional, and testable.
• Contribute to all parts of the software’s development including design, development, test, deployment, support, documentation, and configuration.
• Participate in all the scrum ceremonies using Agile methodology.
• Own the team’s software with a deep understanding of maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, dependencies, and build.
• Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a team environment.

• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts.
• Experience with object‑oriented development and design patterns.
• Full‑stack developer capable of writing secure code in backend and front‑end languages (Java, JavaScript, Angular, SQL) and familiar with secure coding standards.
• Proficient with Spring, Spring Data JPA, REST, and related frameworks.
• Build test code at unit, service, and integration levels to ensure coverage (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑starter, proactive, and passionate about continuous improvement and delivering results.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑oriented environment.
• Experience in an Agile environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (preferred).

(This role operates in a hybrid capacity to come onsite 3x week at our O'Fallon location).

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
