Route Delivery Driver – ChattanoogaEmpire Distributors Inc. is a leading beverage distributor now hiring a Route Delivery Driver. Starting salary: $50,500 per year, with up to $1,200 in bonus potential. Newer fleet model trucks are provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate vehicle in accordance with all State and Federal regulations in a safe manner with respect to weather and road conditions.
- Ensure that pre/post-trip inspection sheets are completed on each vehicle used and notify the DC Operations Manager of discrepancies.
- Check load conditions and maintain load using approved load‑locks and tools to reduce product breakage and vehicle damage.
- Maintain security of load by ensuring the truck bay is locked at all times while the driver is away from the vehicle.
- Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean at the end of each shift.
- Handle, deliver, and work with all products that may be ordered by customers.
- Deliver products according to invoices and customer requirements, ensuring timeliness.
- Use electronic devices provided by the company to accurately and consistently record start and stop times, assuring hours of service are recorded in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Provide input on routes, including time windows, stop order sequence, etc., through proper channels.
- Ensure that all invoices delivered are signed by the respective customer, paperwork is in stop‑order sequence, invoices are matched, and the route sheet is properly marked.
- Collect payments based on terms established by the company and Tennessee state laws.
- Communicate shortages and overages of products, returning items to the distribution center as necessary.
- Resolve issues with customers when possible, or communicate those issues to the company for proper resolution.
- Ensure proper deposit procedure is followed when depositing funds collected from route.
- Complete training assignments by management in a timely manner, including but not limited to Worklete and Pro‑Tread.
- Perform job essential duties and responsibilities effectively while being monitored via Drive Cam.
- Immediately report any changes to driver license status or any citations issued by law enforcement authorities to DC Operations Manager.
- Represent the company by wearing the work uniform properly and maintaining a neat and well‑groomed appearance.
- Maintain a positive attitude and good work habits.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsWe obtain for you:
- TN ABC Wholesaler's Employee Permit
- Current DOT Medical Card
You are required to have:
- Valid Driver License with F Endorsement
- Basic computer knowledge
