Role Description

We are seeking full time, on-site, highly qualified candidates to fulfill critical Bomber Squadron Operations Support (BSOS) positions across active-duty Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) bomber units ( Barksdale AFB, LA; Dyess AFB, TX; Ellsworth AFB, SD; Minot AFB, ND; Whiteman AFB, MO). These positions provide specialized non-flying operational support—traditionally performed by active-duty pilots, Weapon Systems Officers (WSOs), and Electronic Warfare Officers (EWOs)—enabling operational aircrews to maintain mission focus, flying currencies, and combat readiness.

This single job requisition encompasses four key specialized functional roles across multiple AFGSC bomber operations groups (B-1B, B-2A, and B-52H MDS):

Squadron Aircrew Scheduler (Core Role)

Responsible for managing dynamic short- and long-range flight, ground, and simulator training schedules in high-tempo operational environments. Key duties include:

  • Coordinate with training officers, Aviation Resource Management (ARM), Unit Deployment Managers (UDMs), and Operations Officers (DO) to build schedules satisfying currency, progression, and upgrade standards.
  • Build daily, weekly, and monthly flight/ground/academic/simulator schedules using Patriot Excalibur (PEX) or proprietary database systems.
  • Deconflict aircrew availability taking into account leave, medical appointments, temporary duty (TDY), and operational taskings; schedule based on aircrew experience levels to mitigate Operational Risk Management (ORM).
  • Coordinate aircraft and equipment availability with Maintenance; deconflict airspace, ranges, exercise taskings (e.g., RED FLAG, GREEN FLAG, Weapons School), and tanker support with Wing/higher headquarters.
  • Facilitate rapid last-minute schedule changes due to maintenance, weather, or operational constraints while maintaining full mission coverage.
Operations Training & Standardization / Evaluation (Stan Eval) Support (Core Role)

Responsible for total oversight of unit aircrew training programs, qualification tracking, safety-of-flight guidance, and flight evaluation records. Key duties include:

  • Maintain and update individual aircrew training records, grade books, and folders IAW AFI 11-202V1/V2 and AFI 11-2

MDS-V1/V2, MAJCOM supplements, and local guidance.
  • Interface directly with ARM personnel to update the Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS) and PEX.
  • Administer aircrew ground/academic testing and required classes (CRM, IRC, pre-deployment/grounding training); track upgrade and Ready Aircrew Program (RAP) training continuation.
  • Generate critical administrative products: AF Form 8 (Certification of Aircrew Qualification), AF Form 4324, Monthly Aircrew Qualification Level Summaries ("Letter of Xs"), RAP Reports, and Gradebook Reports.
  • Ensure expeditious posting of all safety-of-flight publications, FCIFs, and maintain technical order library and mission planning systems (MSCs) standardization.
Wing / Long-Range Scheduler (Optional Specialty Role)

Focuses on macro-level operational alignment, strategic resource optimization, and Wing-level coordination. Key duties include:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive long-range scheduling systems, prioritizing aerial refueling tankers and Agile Combat Employment (ACE) operations.
  • Align operational unit long-term mission planning with AFGSC strategic goals and tenant partners (AFRC, ANG).
  • Analyze historical mission data to optimize…
