Allied Universal is currently hiring a Part‑time Armed Security Officer for a state site on Martha’s Vineyard, MA.

Location:

South Yarmouth, MA

Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8 AM – 6 PM

Pay: $23.79 per hour. Orientation and training are paid.

Candidate must possess a concealed‑carry permit and at least one year of related experience. Age at least 21 years for armed roles.

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting information through established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials where required, and support the control of entry and exit for restricted areas in accordance with site rules and governmental requirements.
• Communicate with supervisors, local law enforcement, and emergency personnel as needed, and assist with traffic, roadway, and facility‑related post duties based on site conditions.

• Possess a concealed‑carry weapons permit.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Applications with criminal histories will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Applicants will be required to pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, subject to state and local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
