Senior Accountant
Semi-Custom Home Builder | 50+ Years in Business
Our client is a well-established semi-custom home builder that has been in business for over 50 years, earning a reputation for quality craftsmanship, long-term relationships, and beautifully built homes. With a strong backlog and continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team and play a key role in the company's financial operations.
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions while supporting financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
This role offers stability, visibility, and long-term career growth within a company that values its people and promotes from within.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage job cost accounting and work closely with construction and operations teams
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Support year-end close and coordination with external CPAs and auditors
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies within accounting operations
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within homebuilding, construction, or real estate
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Strong understanding of construction accounting and job costing
- Experience with accounting software used in homebuilding environments
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work cross-functionally
- 50+ years of stability with a respected semi-custom home builder
- Strong project backlog featuring beautiful, thoughtfully designed homes
