Staff Accountant

Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting senior living. They believe strong financial stewardship is essential to making a real impact, and are looking for a Staff Accountant who shares our commitment to transparency, accuracy, and service.

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial health of our organization. This position works closely with the Finance Director and program teams to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and smooth day-to-day accounting operations.

• Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly

• Assist with monthly and year-end financial close

• Support budget tracking and grant reporting

• Prepare schedules for audits and annual filings

• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controls

• Collaborate with staff across departments as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2+ years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred)

• Knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with nonprofit fund accounting a plus

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or similar)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
