Key Responsibilities

• Lead the general ledger month-end close for a large, enterprise-scale business
  
  • Review GL activity for accuracy, trends, unusual variances; escalate insights to leadership
  
  • Oversee monthly reconciliations for critical balance sheet accounts
  
  • Drive process improvements across close, reconciliations, and accounting operations
  
  • Evaluate and implement system enhancements & automation opportunities
  
  • Lead and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
  
  • Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and support audit deliverables
  
  • Lead SOX/internal controls testing and remediation efforts
  
  • Partner with FP&A, Operations, and IT on cross-functional issues and process improvements

Experience

• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred
  
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in complex, multi‑entity organizations
  
  • Strong GL, close, and reporting background; prior public accounting is a plus
  
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, or other large ERPs
  
  • Systems implementation or transformation experience highly preferred
  
  • Experience in distribution, automotive, retail, or multi-location businesses is a plus
  
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to operate in high-change, PE-backed environments
  
  • Advanced Excel + strong analytical competency
