A highly respected public accounting firm based in Oak Brook is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its growing team. This firm is known for its strong mentorship programs and commitment to developing its employees both professionally and personally.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns.
  • Work closely with clients to provide proactive tax planning and advisory services.
  • Research and analyze technical tax issues and communicate findings effectively.
  • Manage tax correspondence and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Review work prepared by staff accountants and ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex tax engagements and consulting projects.
  • Gain exposure to a variety of tax matters, including state and local tax (SALT), sales and use tax, payroll tax, and other specialty areas.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
  • Prior tax review experience is required.
  • CPA or EA designation preferred, or actively pursuing certification.
  • Experience conducting tax research and interpreting tax regulations.
  • SALT (State & Local Tax) experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated interest in mentoring and developing junior staff.
