Staff Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, including reconciliations, inventory accounting, payroll processing, accruals, prepaid expenses, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and experience with accounting software.
Location: On-Site
Salary Range
: $50,000 – $60,000 annually
Key Responsibilities
- Process, review, and reconcile corporate credit card transactions, employee expense reports, and cash activity to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Record and maintain accruals and prepaid expense schedules, ensuring expenses are recognized in the appropriate accounting periods.
- Post inventory transactions, reconcile inventory accounts, and prepare Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) entries to support accurate financial reporting.
- Process payroll through Paycom and record payroll-related journal entries, deductions, and benefits activity.
- Manage accounts payable workflows through , including invoice review, coding, approval tracking, and payment processing.
- Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and ensure accounting records are complete and accurate in Quick Books.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Support the accounting team with process improvements, documentation, and other general accounting duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 0–2 years of accounting experience.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with Quick Books, , and Paycom preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
