Summary Of Position
This role equips our church to welcome and serve guests at both internal events and during outside rentals. By assisting the director of events and leading volunteer teams, anticipating and planning logistics, food service, and staffing needs, this role demonstrates the heart of hospitality at Christ Church. In supporting the Director of Food Services with administrative tasks such as ordering, billing, volunteer management, and co‑leading or leading during events, the role allows the Director to focus on organizational tasks and collaborative planning and problem solving.
Compensation$15 to $19 hourly
401k with 4% employer match
Essential Functions- Collaborate with Director of Food & Event Services to plan for F&E Services needs for all upcoming events ranging from staff break to annual women’s conference to outside rentals with more than 700 guests; lead and execute F&E services during events.
- Assist Director of Events and Special Projects with accounting, ordering, inventory management, and other administrative tasks.
- Demonstrate a heart for hospitality for guests and participants in all Christ Church and outside rental events.
- Assist in planning and preparing menus and welcoming spaces for gatherings ranging from 15 to 500 guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in Christ Church staff life by attending all‑staff meetings, church sponsored events, worship, training events and contributing to a culture of collaboration and encouragement.
- Support church‑wide initiatives and special events – assist with Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day services, outreach and mission events by serving in flexible roles beyond primary ministry responsibilities.
- Engage in ongoing personal and professional development through training, reading, coaching or mentoring to grow as a leader and servant of Christ.
- Collaborate across ministries to ensure alignment, share resources, and strengthen unity on our staff teams.
- Demonstrate and model Christ Church’s core values in daily work, relationships and service to others.
- Maintain a posture of flexibility by assisting with projects or assignments outside the immediate scope of the role when needed.
- Contribute to a culture of grace, care and prayer by being available to support, encourage and pray with staff, volunteers and congregants as appropriate.
- Program / Event Coordination and Logistical Support: manage event logistics, coordinate resources, and ensure seamless collaboration across departments.
- Information and Records Management: maintain accurate, organized and accessible data systems, manage volunteer information, attendance data and contact lists.
- Communication and Scheduling Management: manage official calendars, handle correspondence and act as liaison on behalf of supervisor or director.
- High School diploma.
- 1–3 years experience in restaurant, catering or service industry with experience in large events.
- Support and model individual spiritual formation (worship, grow and serve).
- Regularly attend worship and participate in ministry events at Christ Church or a Christ Church campus unless exempted by leadership.
- Seek opportunities and participate in authentic worship, exalting and enjoying God as one of life’s greatest purposes and pleasures.
