Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring a Safety Engineer (CES) in Oak Brook, IL. The Safety Engineer (CES) is responsible for overseeing the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols across electrical construction projects to ensure a secure work environment. The ideal candidate will conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations while working closely with project leadership to foster a proactive safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives in the field.

Annual Salary: $85,000 to $110,000 Annually BOE
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the administration of project-specific accident prevention efforts and safety programs.
- Perform and document regular jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on electrical hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
- Conduct work area assessments and ensure safety completion by reviewing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) for major work phases.
- Coordinate and facilitate safety meetings and training programs to ensure effective communication across the workforce.
- Support Crew Foreman and General Foremen in the development and implementation of Job Hazard Analyses.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and recognize those exhibiting safe behaviors.
- Assist with the delivery of jobsite-specific safety orientations for new employees joining project sites.
- Support project leadership in the completion of thorough incident investigations and facilitate injury or illness cases.
- Meet regularly with field personnel to develop project-specific corrective action plans addressing safety concerns.
- Proven experience in construction safety, preferably within the electrical or MEP trades.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and influence safety behaviors through effective communication.
- Demonstrated experience in hazard recognition and the development of corrective action plans.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, for reporting and documentation.
- Strong analytical skills for performing incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to project leadership regarding safety improvements.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites for extended periods.
- Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders to perform site inspections.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and bending required to evaluate work areas.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
- Comfortable working in environments with exposure to heights and loud noises.
- Specific vision abilities required for the use of computers and reading technical documentation.
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
