- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aviation / Aeronautical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. Master’s degree or advanced management training is a plus.
- At least 10-15 years of experience in infrastructure / aviation construction, including leading aviation-specific projects (airport runways, lighting systems, airfield electrical, navigational aids, etc.).
- Demonstrated success in senior leadership roles managing diverse teams, multiple projects, P&L accountability, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Deep knowledge of airport regulations, FAA standards, NFPA, ICAO (if applicable), lighting, signage, airfield safety, electrical and communications systems in aviation contexts.
- Experience with bidding, estimating, procurement, contract negotiation specifically for aviation/airport projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, site utilities, environmental compliance, and civil/structural/A&E coordination.
- Strong financial acumen: cost forecasting, profitability management, change order management.
- Vision for growing an aviation business line: ability to see market opportunities, position the company competitively, build relationships (with airports, government agencies, consultants, regulatory bodies).
- Stakeholder management: ability to engage internal teams, subcontractors, clients, regulators, and partners with clarity and integrity.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous or rapidly changing regulatory / environmental contexts.
- Commitment to safety culture, quality control, and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, airports, client meetings, as needed (potentially regional or national).
