Power & Controls Engineer

C&I Engineering is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team!

We are currently seeking a full‑time Staff Power & Controls Engineer in our office to help us achieve our company mission. C&I is a full‑service engineering design firm providing engineering, design, project management and procurement services to clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

Full‑time

• Prepares complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations. Designs are well coordinated with other departments.
• Creates lists of engineering deliverables and tasks, and estimates effort hours based on limited scopes of work for complex projects.
• Mentors junior staff, assists in training and development, and identifies training needs for the department chief.
• Creates a plan of execution for large and complex projects, anticipating task sequences, long‑lead and special items for the engineering procurement cycle, and dependencies of information from others.
• Works within the project team to integrate the department plan into a multi‑discipline project plan of execution.
• Prepares computer analyses and calculations.
• Uses vendor documents, coordination prints, surveys, and models to check dimensions, determine interface points, physical space requirements, and provide information to other departments.
• Specifies process instrumentation (level, pressure, flow, temperature, etc.).
• Helps develop P&IDs and create typical electrical and instrumentation design documents.

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET‑accredited engineering program with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET‑accredited engineering technology program with 12 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites; travel may be up to 10%.
• Must comply with drug‑free workplace requirements.
• Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
• Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
• Valid driver’s license.
