We are an established civil/environmental engineering and surveying firm with a strong foundation in water/wastewater engineering. Our services have expanded to include traditional civil/site design, watershed resources, and utility infrastructure rehabilitation. We serve numerous municipalities across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin and are experiencing significant growth.

As part of our strategic expansion, we are building an ASME support services team within our Water/Wastewater Division, with plans to extend services to other municipal facilities such as public works, police, and fire stations. We are assembling a high-performing team of architects, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the design and construction of electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role includes electrical distribution, backup power, motor controls, instrumentation & control, and SCADA systems. The position will also support a broader range of municipal ASME projects.

This is a career-oriented opportunity for a proactive engineer who can make an immediate impact. Responsibilities include developing the basis of design, coordinating electrical elements with process design, directing the preparation of drawings and specifications, and providing construction‑phase support.

Key Requirements
  • US Citizenship required (no sponsorship available)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois
  • Low and medium voltage industrial distribution systems
  • National Electric Code (NFPA 70), including Article 500 for hazardous locations
  • Short circuit studies, protective device coordination, and arc flash analyses
  • Instrumentation & control and SCADA systems
  • Electrical schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and single‑line drawings
  • Preparation of procurement specifications for electrical equipment
  • On‑site construction support, testing, startup, and troubleshooting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proven project and personnel management experience
  • Sound business acumen and marketing skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
