We are seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor skilled in managing and performing a variety of land survey projects. The Project Surveyor will provide technical leadership, mentor staff, and collaborate closely with engineers, clients, and public agencies. This role is responsible for overseeing survey operations from fieldwork through final deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and high-quality service to clients.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform, manage, and oversee land surveying projects including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, record drawing surveys, and construction staking services.
- Prepare, review, and approve survey maps, legal descriptions, and related documents.
- Supervise, train, and mentor survey field crews and technical staff.
- Review field data, calculations, and survey deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct boundary research and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate survey activities with engineers, planners, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with state statutes, local ordinances, and professional surveying standards.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Maintain organized project records and ensure timely project delivery.
- Uphold safety policies and promote safe work practices in both field and office environments.
- Represent the company professionally in client meetings and project discussions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and company goals.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant surveying experience.
- Strong knowledge of boundary law, surveying principles, and state regulations.
- Experience with survey equipment and data collection methods.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (preferred).
- Experience supervising survey staff and field crews (preferred).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and industry-standard survey software (preferred).
- Prior experience working with public agencies and survey recording processes (preferred).
- Project management or business development experience (preferred).
