An established civil and environmental engineering firm specializing in water/wastewater engineering has expanded into traditional civil/site design, watershed resources, and utility infrastructure rehabilitation. The firm serves numerous municipalities across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin and is experiencing significant growth.
We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer who can make an immediate impact on a growing workload.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Senior Project Engineer will lead water and wastewater projects from planning through design and construction. This includes master planning, utility infrastructure rehabilitation, public water supply, and wastewater treatment systems. Key responsibilities include client management, QA/QC oversight, and mentoring junior staff. The role requires strong technical expertise, outstanding work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt leadership styles as needed.

- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois
- Municipal engineering, contract development, and client management
- Planning, design, and construction of:
- Public water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution systems
- Municipal wastewater collection systems and pump stations
- Wastewater treatment systems (including BNR processes and sludge handling)
- Construction observation and field personnel management
- Environmental permitting, funding, and regulatory compliance
