- Lead electrical system design from concept through construction, ensuring quality, constructability, and code compliance.
- Develop and review designs for power distribution, generators/UPS, lighting and controls, fire alarm, grounding, and life safety systems.
- Perform and oversee engineering studies including load calculations, short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and cable analysis.
- Produce and review design documents including one-lines, specifications, equipment schedules, plans, and Revit/BIM models.
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers; provide coaching, technical guidance, and performance support.
- Assign priorities, manage workloads, and maintain schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and promote engineering standards and best practices.
- Partner with clients, project teams, and consultants to align design objectives and project execution.
- Lead design coordination meetings and support proposals, scope development, and preconstruction efforts.
- Coordinate electrical integration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Perform site visits and support construction activities, including RFIs, submittals, commissioning, testing, and startup (5–10% local travel).
- Stay current with codes, technologies, and industry trends.
- Contribute to design standards, tools, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 7–10+ years of electrical design experience in commercial, institutional, mission critical, or data center environments.
- PE license required or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Experience leading technical teams and multidisciplinary projects.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP (or similar), and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, and applicable electrical codes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to project and construction sites as needed.
