Sr. Cost Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team near Oak Brook, Illinois. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cost management and financial analysis within the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, coupled with expertise in analyzing and managing manufacturing costs.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage rolling standards for cost accounting processes.

- Conduct detailed cost analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting.

- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to evaluate and optimize production costs.

- Perform job costing tasks to accurately allocate expenses and improve profitability.

- Utilize Power BI tools to analyze data and provide actionable insights.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies in cost accounting practices.

- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on cost trends and financial performance.

- Support the divisional controller in maintaining accurate cost records and driving financial efficiency.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements.

- Provide guidance and expertise on manufacturing cost accounting practices.

Requirements - Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

- Proven expertise in managing and analyzing manufacturing costs.

- Strong knowledge of rolling standards and job costing practices.

- Proficiency in Power BI for data analysis and reporting.

- Familiarity with industry best practices in cost accounting.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve financial goals.

- Effective communication skills for presenting financial data and insights.
