Credit Clerk

Description

We are looking for a meticulous and organized Credit Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer tax and credit documentation, ensuring compliance, and supporting efficient account setup. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative and detail-focused environment in Oak Brook, Illinois.

Responsibilities:

- Collect and organize customer tax documents, including resale and tax-exempt certificates, ensuring compliance with company policies.

- Track and resolve gaps in tax documentation, such as expired or missing certificates.

- Maintain audit-ready records for platforms like Vertex and respond to state tax audit requests.

- Communicate with customers to obtain required tax and credit forms, verifying the accuracy of submitted information.

- Collaborate with internal teams such as Sales, Customer Service, and Credit Analysts to address account-related inquiries.

- Assist in verifying and updating information in internal systems, ensuring data accuracy.

- Provide thorough responses to credit references and documentation inquiries.

- Handle sensitive customer and financial information with confidentiality and integrity.

The hourly pay range for this position is $19.23 to $24/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit or tax-related roles.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis.

- Familiarity with Vertex Sales & Use Tax or similar compliance platforms.

- Ability to perform detailed analysis and resolve discrepancies in tax and credit documentation.

- Experience with monthly sales tax processes and audit requirements.

- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.

- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
