Overview
A growing professional services firm is seeking a VP of Finance & Technology to serve as a key member of the leadership team and help guide the company’s next stage of growth.
This is not a traditional finance seat. It is a finance leadership role with a meaningful operational and technology component. The right person will bring strong accounting and financial leadership, while also being comfortable working at the intersection of finance, systems, data integrity, reporting, vendor management, and operational improvement.
The VP of Finance & Technology will work closely with senior leadership to oversee core finance and accounting activities, partner with internal business leaders, manage key external vendor relationships, and help ensure that the company’s technology and reporting infrastructure supports timely, accurate, and actionable business insight.
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities will include:
- Leading the finance and accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, month-end close oversight, KPI reporting, and support for executive decision-making.
- Partnering with leadership to improve reporting, dashboards, data integrity, and business intelligence across the organization.
- Serving as a key internal liaison for technology initiatives, including systems integration, application software, outsourced IT partners, and broader technology infrastructure.
- Managing and developing the finance/accounting team while assessing future staffing needs as the company continues to grow.
- Supporting business leaders with reporting, project profitability, utilization, and other performance insights.
- Managing outside vendor and consultant relationships across accounting, tax, banking, benefits, insurance, technology, and compliance.
- Overseeing selected administrative and compliance-related functions, including banking covenants, insurance programs, and regulatory coordination.
- Helping the firm move from manual, retrospective reporting toward more automated, forward-looking, data-driven decision support.
Ideal candidates will bring senior finance leadership experience in professional services, financial services, consulting, accounting, investment banking, or a similarly people-driven business. A strong foundation in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and business analysis is important, as is experience working with systems, dashboards, data, ERP/CRM platforms, or technology-enabled process improvement.
OpportunityThis is a strong opportunity for a finance leader who wants to have broad impact in a growing, independent professional services firm with a strong culture and a clear commitment to investing in its future.
