Internal Controls & Audit Specialist

Here’s how you can help – we are currently looking for a Internal Controls and Audit Specialist to join our Finance Division team. In this role, you will oversee internal projects within Finance, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and provide status report summaries to management. You’ll identify financial risk, improve internal controls, monitor regulatory compliance, and act as the business liaison for finance on technology projects.

You’ll also support the claims compliance process and conduct internal audit testing as needed.

• Conduct internal audit reviews, document process flows, perform testing, summarize results, outline remediation efforts and improvement opportunities.
• Drive compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the mission, values, and integrity standards.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, keeping management informed of the annual internal audit plan.
• Perform gap analysis and risk assessments across divisions to protect company assets.
• Work cross‑functionally to develop, implement, test and maintain internal controls, and provide internal training and awareness sessions.
• Develop project schedules and milestones based on business objectives and scope.
• Ensure finance teams have adequate written SOPs and sufficient internal controls.
• Support the Claims Compliance team by guiding the overall process and processing expense claims.
• Partner with Claims Compliance to develop a fair methodology for calculating annual budgets for Lions leadership.
• Consult with Technology, act as the process owner for Finance, and ensure solutions meet business needs.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four‑year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in audit, internal controls assessments, or related work.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and experience in cross‑functional collaboration.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Prior experience with risk management/developing risk assessments is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of SAP or a similar expense reporting system is a plus.

Compensation:
Exempt: $78,000–88,000
